Buck Hill resident, Susan Ketigian, shares the facinating and meaningful work she carries out with Healing the Children Northeast. Susan will talk about her experiences assisting on medical missions throughout the world providing care for needy children and young adults.

Saturday, July 23rd – Simon Mandal, Magician


We bring back one of 2021’s favorite events! World-class magician and comedian, Simon Mandal, once again comes to Buck Hill bringing laughter and amazement! All ages will enjoy his mind-boggling and incredible magical antics!

Sunday, July 24th – Eugene Linden, Climate Change Expert & Author

Fire and Flood: How it all went wrong on climate change and where we are headed.

Award-winning writer, and author of several non-fiction books on science, technology, the environment, and humanity’s relationship with nature, unpacks the various forces that drained the urgency from a dominant issue of our time. Linden will take us on an insightful journey detailing where we currently are in the climate story and whether it is too late to act.

Sunday, July 31st – Jim Robbins, Veteran Journalist and Author

“The Wonder of Birds”

Jim Robbins, a frequent contributor to the New York Times and writer for numerous magazines, opens up the miraculous world of birds with a presentation of his most recent book, “The Wonder of Birds: What they tell us about ourselves, the world, and a better future. We’ll all discover the powerful – and surprising– ways they enrich our lives and sustain the planet.

Sunday, August 7th – Anne Moore, MD

A Lifetime of Medical Progress…Where Next?

Dr. Moore, Director of the Iris Cantor Breast Cancer Center Survivorship Program at Weill Cornell Medicine, will share with us the changes that have occurred in the field of medicine over her 40+ years in the profession.

Sunday, August 14th – Cynthia M. Otto, DVM, PhD., DACVECC, DACVSMR

How Dogs Save Lives


Executive Director and Founder of the Penn Vet Working Dog Center, Dr. Otto conducts vital research on detection dogs. In this family-oriented event, Dr. Otto will help us understand how these hard-working and highly intelligent dogs are selected, raised and trained to use their nose to detect things –from drugs to people to infectious diseases.

Sunday, August 21st – Witold Rybczynski

The Landscape Artistry of Frederick Law Olmstead

“One of the our most original, accessible, and stimulating writers on architecture,” Witold Rybczynski, has written more than twenty books on a variety of subjects, most notably “A Clearing in the Distance, a biography of Frederick Law Olmsted.” This being the bicentennial of the birth of Frederick Law Olmsted, Mr. Rybczynski will talk about the life of this famous figure and take us on a walk through two of his exceptional landscapes: Prospect Park and the gardens of the Biltmore House.

Sunday, September 4th – Annual Labor Day Picnic

We say farewell to another enjoyable summer in Buck Hill Falls with our annual Labor Day picnic atop Metzgar’s Farm. All will enjoy a late summer evening with Buck Hill friends and neighbors in Metzgar’s gorgeous open meadow, watching the sunset and starting to plan for summer 2023!
